Course Update from the Head Greenkeeper, Simon Robinson 25th
March 2008 On Wednesday and Thursday this week we will be aerating (verti draining) the 4th and 8th greens using a ¾ inch solid tine to a depth of approximately 10 inches. A product called Axis will then be worked into the tine holes. This work is necessary to improve drainage, relieve compaction and encourage deeper rooting. These two greens will take a few days to settle down and recover. The remaining greens will be aerated using our Toro ProCore machine fitted with pencil tines. There will be minimal disturbance to the putting surfaces after this operation. |
