There was good support for Junior Captain, Harry Chapple, on his Junior Captain's Day competition. Rhodric Allen, fresh in from winning the Club Captain's Prize for Juniors was in top form again to win the Junior Captain's Day prize with 39 points. Hilton Ellis came a close second on count back from Imogen Fox, both with 38 points. The Junior Club Handicap Prize was won by Sam Stubbs with Edward Marsh second.
Junior Club Championship Stuart Williams showed his worth in winning the 2010 Junior Club Championship. Bradley Fullbrook, fresh in from winning the Golfer of the Year Competition, was 2nd Scratch winner. The first placed Handicap player was Harry Powell with Oli Hunka (2nd Handicap). Eddy Dunlop won the best afternoon Score and George Batts the best morning score. Not content with winning a prize for the nearest the pin, Bradley Fullbrook also won the longest drive.
The Thames Valley Junior Golf League held their Golfer of the Year Competition at Castle Royle and we are delighted to announce that Bradley Fullbrook won the Handicap prize and also won 3rd prize in the Scratch event. Oli Hunka was second in the Handicap prizes. Well done everyone! |

The Robert Darvall Group Open Medal competition was won by Adam Finch from East Berks Golf Club with a nett 69 off a 21 handicap. Second place was Matthew Hicks with a nett 72. The Scratch Winner was Luke Brown from Maidenhead Golf Club who scored a gross 74 off an 8 handicap. Michael Liu won the under 14 Prize with a nett 75. |

Juniors win at Goring – Photo The dates for free squad coaching with Mark Grieve are shown on the Junior Notice Board. Please enter your names and the dates you wish to play on the Juniors Board or I will just this once take your showing the dates you WILL attend , not May be, depending on the weather or how I feel. If after having booked you cannot make it I need to know the day before. August dates are: 23rd (11:00 - 12:00 & 12:00 - 1:00); 26th (10:00 - 11:00 & 11:00 - 12:00) Remember that James does Weekend Coaching for the cost of £5.00 per hour this is open to Non Members as well, so tell your friends and phone the Pro Shop for more details and to book. We have Roll ups for the Full Juniors on 11th and 25th August at 4.00pm. These are also opportunities for Probationers and Club Handicappers to get a card marked. Please enter your names on the entry sheet in the club. There is a Medal on the 24th August and we will be marking cards that day for Probationers and Club Handicappers following the medal about 9.30. The Entry Sheet will be posted soon. For Full Juniors we have Captain's Junior Prize Day on the 13th August. The starting sheets for these are on the Board. The Junior Captain's Day on the Tuesday 17th August and will include events for all categories and Handicaps. Full details nearer the day. There are also 3 Matches still to be played against Reading, Henley and East Berks and we are currently lying second in the League with won three and lost one.
