The Seniors Section
Are you retired, or easing yourself away from the Work ethic and looking to meet new people for friendly and competitive golf? Then why not join the ever-growing Seniors Section? New members are always welcome. The Seniors' Notice Board, situated in the changing rooms, gives full information on the fixture list for year, plus Team Selection Sheets and other relevant notices. During the year, 12 matches are played "Home & Away" against Golf Clubs in the Reading & District Veterans League: Reading, Sonning, Henley, Goring & Streatley, East Berks and Newbury & Crookham. Twelve friendly matches are played "Home & Away" against Temple, Maidenhead, Bearwood Lakes, Basingstoke, Frilford Heath and Sanford Springs. There are also a number of Section Competitions held throughout the year: a Dubai Stableford, 4-Club Challenge, Spring Stableford, Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Cup; Captain's Challenge Day, End of Season Stableford, Christmas Stableford, a Pairs Knockout plus two matches against the Ladies Section. However, if this does not fulfill your golfing needs, there is also the ad-hoc 'Roll-up' for early birds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday starting at 8:00am. With all this variety available to Senior Members, how can you fail to improve your handicap, expand your circle of friends and play some of the finest Golf Courses in the South East? So why not join now? Put your name, address and handicap on an envelope (found above the competition boxes in the 19th Hole) enclose £5 (annual sub) and put it into the Seniors Section Box also located in the 19th Hole. For further information, contact: John Smith, Captain 2008 or Brian Cook, Hon. Secretary. |
